Spring Camp 2012: Another wonderful and action packed Iowa Hands & Voices Spring Camp this year. Camp is always such a great experience for families, and this year was no exception! While the kids were busy climbing, horseback riding, tie dying pillow cases, and stuffing their faces with s'mores, the parents participated in a whole host of topics.
Our February Coffee Time was held at GiGi's Playhouse in Urbandale. What a fun group we had! The kids were able to play in all of the fun areas that makes GiGi's Playhouse so fabulous - climbing, sliding, playing trains or kitchen, and even dress up! The parents were able to talk about what's going on with their little ones, challenges they're facing and obstacles they've overcome. And thanks to Grandma Cindy for sharing all of those strawberries with us! Please come join us for the next event...
Carroll's Pumpkin Farm pic's: Here we are on our 6th annual trip to Carroll's Pumpkin Farm! Hayrides, jumping pillow, corn maze, pumpkin patch, hot apple cider, beautiful weather and pumpkins galore! So much fun watching the kids run all over this family friendly venue. Be sure to join us next year!
Congratulations on Your Graduation... Now What?!?!? This panel for teens on transition was held at East High School in Des Moines. The junior high and high school students learned about what services are available while pursuing their higher educations, they discovered what really happens at college from current college students, learned what their rights are, and also discussed the best types of cell phones for d/hh kids. All of their knowledge gained during the session was tested by a fun & rowdy game of Jeopardy complete with lots of great prizes.
Spring Camp 2009: Iowa Hands & Voices Spring Camp is always such a great experience for families, and this year was no exception! While the kids were busy climbing, horseback riding, tie dying pillow cases, and stuffing their faces with s'mores, the parents participated in a whole host of topics including the status on the sign language interpreter licensing in Iowa. We even managed to sneak in a great hike.
